The Snapshot
A day in your business. A week in your books. One report.
Every job I do starts here, because I won't quote a fix for a problem I haven't looked at. The Snapshot is $2,000, fixed. There's no hourly meter and no add-ons.
What you get
- A few hours with me on site, on a day that works for you (evenings and Saturdays are fine), watching how the work actually gets done and talking to whoever runs the office.
- A week of me going through your invoices, bills, software subscriptions, contracts, and spreadsheets.
- A written report, in plain language, ranked by what's worth doing first.
- Real dollar figures where I can stand behind them, with the math shown and how sure I am.
- Straight answers, including “this part's fine, leave it alone.”
- An in-person walkthrough of the report. You keep it either way.
See what the report looks like (a sample, for a made-up business).
What I look for
Roughly in this order:
- Money going out twice. Two subscriptions doing one job. A plan tier you outgrew, or never grew into.
- Work done by hand that a machine should do. Retyping, re-sending, re-checking. The stuff that eats an evening every week.
- Money coming in late, or not at all. Unbilled work, unpaid invoices nobody's chasing, deposits that don't match the sale.
- Things that only one person knows how to do. If that person is sick, the business stalls.
- Numbers you can't get. “Which customers actually make us money?” shouldn't take a weekend to answer.
What I won't promise
- A set number of findings. Some businesses are running well. I'll tell you if yours is.
- A dollar amount before I've looked.
- That you'll need to learn new software. Anything I build afterward runs without you babysitting it.
After the Snapshot
If the report turns up something worth building, I quote it separately and at a fixed price. Most fixes land between $2,500 and $10,000 depending on size. Some clients want me to keep an eye on things afterward; that's a small monthly arrangement with a short call each month, and it's optional.
You can also take the report and do nothing, or hand it to someone else. It's yours.
What I'll need from you
A few hours of access to your place and your people, and read-only access to your books (QuickBooks or whatever you use), plus your recent bills and any contracts. I'll send a short list before I come out. Everything stays on my machine and gets deleted when we're done, unless you ask me to keep it.
