About
Logan Pederson
I live in Nashwauk. The Pedersons have been around Grand Rapids and Balsam for generations; I've lived all over and came back.
By trade I'm a developer and analyst. Weekdays I work for a large company, finding where time and money leak out of how the work gets done and building something so it stops: a report that checks itself, a form that fills itself in, a tool that reads the inbox and drafts the answer. Before that I spent years running the systems that move files between companies, the plumbing nobody thinks about until it breaks.
The problems in a big company and the problems in a twelve-person shop are the same problems. Somebody retypes the same numbers into two places. Nobody's sure which software bill is for what. The one person who knows how the schedule works is on vacation. Big companies pay people like me to fix that. Small ones mostly live with it. I started Pederson Business Solutions because I think that's a bad deal.
How I work
- I check things against the real world. Before I hand you a number or a fix, I've watched it run on your actual data.
- I show the math. If something is costing you $4,000 a year, you'll see how I got there and how sure I am.
- I build for the way you actually run. QuickBooks and a scheduling app, or a whiteboard and a good memory. Nothing I leave depends on you learning new software.
- I say when something's fine. Being told “leave that alone” is worth as much as the rest.
- Fixed prices, up front. You know the cost before I start.
Where I work
Out of Nashwauk, across the Range and north-central Minnesota: Grand Rapids, Hibbing, Virginia, Eveleth, Chisholm, Coleraine, Deer River, out to Bemidji and Duluth. I come to you; the interesting part is always at your place.
